Diaval was a raven. At least he use to be. Until a farmer caught him in a net, planning to beat him to death and feed him to the dogs. Then she showed up and changed everything. Including him.

Rescued by Maleficent and turned into a man, Diaval acts as her servant, her messenger and her spy. He shifts from shape to shape at her will, not his own and she makes of him what she pleases. Literarily.

Diaval is a young, dark haired man who appears to be in his mid-twenties. His hair is blue black and always a mess and his eyes are black – pupil and iris both. Or a large raven.

In human form he has heavy feathered scarring that runs almost symmetrically over his whole body, most noticeably on his face and neck.
